What We Value
The Great Confession
Humility
In our confession, we acknowledge that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the living God, which implies acceptance of our human limitations and the divine nature of Jesus. We confess, just like the Apostle Peter, that we are capable of a Spirit-empowered truth immediately followed by selfish statements worthy of rebuke by Jesus. Because of our confession, we are a network reflecting the humble, Spirit-dependent, and sacrificial posture of Jesus. This is especially true in the ways the people of our churches treat each other and how our network relates to other churches.
“You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God.” Matthew 16:16
The Great Commandment
Love & Unity
In the Great Commandment, we see the order and breadth of how our love ought to be expressed. Because He first loved us we are compelled to love Him and love one another. The desperate need for God’s love shapes our church. Our obedience to the great commandment influences how we love and unite with other churches. We earnestly desire to be an answer to Jesus’ prayer (“May they be one as we are one” John 17:23). Unity is not an insignificant possibility we may choose to pursue or not depending on capacity. Unity is a spiritual reality that strategically reveals the power of the gospel. We believe that to truly love and collaborate with other churches, we need to be open, honest, and vulnerable.
“‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart...
Matthew 22:37-39
The Great Commission
Grace & Truth
The integration of grace and truth is crucial in fulfilling the Great Commission. The mandate of bringing the good news of Jesus Christ by making disciples and "baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and the Holy Spirit," must be accomplished with grace and truth. Our need for Jesus “through whom grace and truth came” (John 1:17), shapes our network. We desire to reflect Jesus’ prayer “Sanctify them by the truth; your word is truth” (John 17:17). Because Jesus Christ is grace and truth personified, we will strive to live in ways that reflect his character.
"Therefore go and make disciples of all nations..." Matthew 28:19-20
